NJ Dirty Gardener: March 2015

I think I’m getting bored with the podcasts and generally everything I’m indulging in as a consumer. I guess I shouldn’t complain because I get everything for free but I still am. Lol. I’ve been listening to Combat Jack for about four years and only started listening for Dallas Penn because he such a character. I know I’ve expressed my opinion that the only thing that I liked about the show was Dallas and DJ Benhameen but over the years Jack has proven himself to be better then I first thought. Jack and Pete seem like half cornballs I wouldn’t chill with let alone want to hear their opinion or input on any subject. I do the “pause” thing but I think they should cut that crap out when it comes to guests who doesn’t. Seems wack if they’re the only ones playing the game and the guest are left wondering wtf are they talking about. I’ve listened to The Read since the beginning and think it’s funny as hell. Although most of my friends wouldn’t listen to it because they’re straight homophobes and/or don’t care for the subject matter. I don’t really care too much for the subject matter but dude is hilarious so he always puts an interesting spin on things. But the co-host is so wack to me. She is such a tight ass and over opinionated although that’s probably what they are going for but she irks my nerves. Don’t hate her all the time just most of it. I can def. say I’ve listened to Juan Esptein since the beginning and love it. But the last episode annoyed me. They say they are doing a retrospective on biggies music and Rosenberg aint had shit prepped. I can’t shit on this one too much because I just turned it off and searched for biggie playlists on soundcloud for the rest of the day. Lol. Brilliant Idiots is something of strange for me… I’ve always hated Charlamagne but this podcast let me know he is actually funny. I enjoy this podcast for the most part but can’t when it comes to the social and political stuff. I can’t fuck with their ideology but I don’t think they expect me too so its cool. One thing that bugs me is that Charlamagne really thinks he’s an authority of the hood but from what he says half the time I don’t believe him “..he needs more people!” lol And which leaves with me with Fanbros. The little podcast that could… I really want this podcast to win but IDK… Maybe they need someone to guide them better and finding a formula. I love that they talk about race on the podcast but think maybe that part of the show shouldn’t be freestyled because they already say ppl complain about it. The last episode they started off good but all of a sudden they are all over the place. They need to focus better on the subjects at hand. I’m way more liberal then most ppl I know and even I find myself saying “shut up already” when they talk about “kinds” being represented in the general public. After listening to The Read and Fanbros today and watching Lately Show last night I find myself closer to the middle of the P.C. conversation. I was always way left of it but it seems in the last five years… maybe ten years I’ve been standing still the line is moving. Combat Jack always draw weird lines about where they are in it all, The Read of course is all the way left, Juan Epstein is probably a little to the left of me, Brilliant Idiots is for the most part right of me and Fanbros is way way left of me. At 37 I’m at weird place. Kinda feel like Patrice O’Neal in Elephant in the Room. I’m old.. everybody is waiting for us to die out… I cheered when Seattle (who I was going for) was going to lose and a fight started… I cheered! I play the pause game. I say “That’s what she said”, I taught my daughter “Snitches get stitches”, I still call things and situations “gay” when I don’t approve. I’m a dying breed… for better or worse.
